PM Modi Hails Establishment of Industry Guild and Supply Chain Observatory at IIT Dhanbad as a Key Move in Critical Mineral Strategy
Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the establishment of the Industry Guild and Supply Chain Observatory at the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad as a significant stride toward securing India’s critical mineral supply chains.
The initiative aims to strengthen India’s self-reliance in essential minerals vital for sectors such as renewable energy, electric mobility, defense, and advanced manufacturing. The observatory is expected to facilitate strategic collaborations, foster technology partnerships, and promote sustainable resource development within the country.
Highlighting the importance of the move, the Prime Minister said it would enhance India’s global competitiveness in the minerals sector while supporting domestic industries in reducing import dependence.
