XPS to broaden Glencore Technology Jameson test work reach across North America

In partnership with XPS, Glencore Technology has expanded its capacity to provide comprehensive Jameson Cell test work services across North America, it says.

Based in Falconbridge, Ontario, XPS is a multidisciplinary team of mineral resource professionals offering expertise across operations, consulting, projects, piloting and laboratory services. With state-of-the-art laboratories, XPS provides integrated, one-stop solutions that enhance operational performance through both in-lab testing and on-site project support.

Leveraging its mineralogical expertise and its role as the logistical hub for Jameson Cell test rigs across North America, XPS offers the region’s most comprehensive access to Glencore Technology flotation testing, the company claims. XPS Vice President, Jan Smit, said this capability enables customers to complete every stage of testwork through a single provider:

“What makes XPS unique is our ability to deliver a full Jameson Cell test work program right here in North America,” he said. “From small lab-scale testing to full pilot-scale trials with the Z500 rig, we combine technical execution with mineralogical analysis to demonstrate real performance. Customers can directly compare the Jameson Cell to conventional flotation, supported by our team from setup through to commissioning.”

The benefits speak for themselves: a real-time demonstration of how the Jameson Cell can outperform its competitors, Glencore Technology says.

Part of the Jameson Cell’s value lies in the accuracy of its test work and scale-up, which are essential for optimal plant performance. The hydrodynamic conditions in the downcomer and tank are identical across laboratory, pilot and full-scale Jameson Cells. In other words, scale-up is direct and proven, and using Jameson Cell technology in the flowsheet reduces project risk, the company claims.
