Sofi Filtration recently opened its new Sofi Filtration Test Center in Izmir, Türkiye, created it says in direct response to growing customer demand in the region. This marks an important step as the company begins commercial testing and piloting with mining industry customers in Türkiye.
It states: “Together with our local partner Ecoline Group, we’re bringing our patented microfiltration technology closer to mining operations – making it easier for customers to test, validate, and implement sustainable water management solutions. Whether the goal is to reduce water withdrawal or recover more valuable minerals from process waters, we’re here to support those needs locally.”
At the Izmir test centre, Sofi Filtration enables pilot-scale testing under real-world conditions. The first customer samples have already arrived, and the facility began full-scale use from early December 2025.

Sofi Filtration has two processes relevant to mining and metals – Sofi Alchemist is engineered to capture ultra-fine particles down to 0.3 μm – unlocking up to 20% more value from process streams. Installed separately from the concentrator, it treats overflow water without interrupting operations. Sofi Prima keeps process water clean, reducing maintenance costs and minimising structural damage in the system. It improves energy recovery and efficiency while reducing water consumption – all without interfering with core processes. Installed independently to treat excess and overflow water, Sofi Prima requires no disposables. Made from stainless steel, it is also ultra-low maintenance.
