The Chairman of Coal India Limited visited Western Coalfields Limited to review mining operations and assess progress on production, safety, and efficiency initiatives across its operational areas.
During the visit, the Chairman held meetings with senior management and site officials to evaluate coal output, overburden removal, and implementation of modern mining practices. Emphasis was laid on maintaining high safety standards, improving productivity, and ensuring timely achievement of production targets.
The Chairman also reviewed ongoing infrastructure development, mechanisation efforts, and environmental management measures at WCL mines spread across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Officials briefed him on challenges related to logistics, manpower deployment, and land acquisition.
The visit underlined Coal India’s focus on strengthening operational performance at subsidiary companies while aligning coal production with the country’s growing energy requirements and sustainability goals.
