Mira Geoscience acquires SRK’s geological mapping platform, HiveMap

SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc says its geological mapping platform, HiveMap, has been acquired by Mira Geoscience, a global leader in integrated geoscience software and technical solutions.

Developed by SRK to modernise geological and geotechnical field mapping, HiveMap enables practitioners to efficiently collect, visualise and interpret geoscientific data. The platform integrates seamlessly with photogrammetry, LiDAR and other spatial datasets, supporting consistent, high-quality interpretation across a wide range of project environments, , SRK says.

With HiveMap joining Mira Geoscience’s portfolio of multi-disciplinary geoscience technologies, the platform will benefit from expanded development resources, new integration opportunities and broader global reach, according to the companies, who said they are collaborating closely as the transition process moves forward.

Wayne Barnett, Principal Structural Geologist, SRK Vancouver, said: “HiveMap has been an important innovation for our teams and our clients, and we’re excited to see it continue its growth with Mira Geoscience. Mira’s long-standing commitment to advancing integrated geoscience solutions makes them the right partner to guide HiveMap’s next phase.”

For more than 25 years, Mira Geoscience has developed and supported tools that help geoscientists understand, integrate and communicate complex subsurface information, the company says. Its software ecosystem is widely used by major mining companies, mid-tiers and junior explorers, consultants, geological surveys, governmental organisations and universities worldwide.

John McGaughey, President, Mira Geoscience, said: “We are very pleased to welcome HiveMap into our technology ecosystem. Its capabilities align strongly with our vision for practical, field-ready tools that connect geoscientific data and interpretation. We look forward to building on the foundation created by SRK’s development team.”
