VinFast Reorganizes Brand & Product Lineup As it Expands Globally

VinFast has reorganized its growing electric vehicle lineup into three distinct brand tiers while also introducing two new ultra-luxury EV concepts intended to anchor the top end of its portfolio. The move clarifies how the Vietnamese automaker plans to compete simultaneously in mass-market mobility, commercial fleets, and the global prestige segment.

The company’s new structure separates its vehicles into three clearly defined lines. At the top is Lac Hong, an ultra-luxury marque designed to represent the most exclusive and technologically ambitious vehicles the company produces. The familiar VF series continues as VinFast’s core passenger EV range, covering mainstream consumer segments from the compact VF 3 through the flagship VF 9 and the seven-seat MPV 7. The third line, called Green, focuses on commercial mobility and service vehicles, including models developed specifically for fleet operators and urban transport services.

Alongside the restructuring, VinFast revealed two new luxury vehicles that will expand the Lac Hong range: the Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S. These models join the previously introduced 900 LX, which debuted in 2025. While the VF lineup drives volume sales, the Lac Hong series appears designed primarily as a halo program, showcasing engineering capability and elevating the company’s brand image as it competes internationally.

VinFast is framing the Lac Hong line as more than just another luxury badge. The vehicles incorporate design themes drawn from Vietnamese culture and national symbolism, an approach that distinguishes them from the European heritage branding often used by established luxury automakers. Exterior details include a grille composed of vertical elements inspired by bamboo, while the wing-shaped emblem references the mythical Lac bird. Decorative motifs derived from the Dong Son bronze drum and the geometric patterns of terraced rice fields appear throughout the vehicles’ design.

Inside, the two models emphasize executive-level comfort and craftsmanship. The cabins use materials such as Nappa leather, premium woods, and gold-accented finishes. Seating configurations focus on rear-passenger comfort, with features like reclining “zero-gravity” seats, automated doors, and high-end entertainment systems.

The Lac Hong 900S pushes the concept even further toward the chauffeur-driven luxury category. It includes a partition separating the driver from the passenger compartment, a starlight-style headliner, a large projection display for rear passengers, and a fold-out workstation designed for productivity on the move. The goal is to turn the cabin into a private mobile space for work, relaxation, or entertainment.

On the technical side, both vehicles are expected to use a tri-motor electric drivetrain configuration. This setup combines one motor at the front axle with two motors at the rear, producing a total output of up to 460 kilowatts. VinFast also says the vehicles will feature a fully active suspension system aimed at delivering both ride comfort and high-speed stability. Detailed specifications such as battery size, driving range, and charging performance have not yet been disclosed.

The two models are scheduled for commercial launch in 2027, suggesting they remain part of VinFast’s longer-term product roadmap rather than near-term production vehicles.

Strategically, the announcement highlights how VinFast is attempting to build a full automotive ecosystem within a relatively short period of time. By separating luxury, consumer, and commercial products into distinct brand identities, the company is adopting a structure similar to large global automakers that manage multiple market segments simultaneously.

For VinFast, the Lac Hong vehicles are likely to function as technology and brand flagships rather than high-volume products. Their purpose is to demonstrate engineering capability and reinforce the message that Vietnam’s young automaker is capable of building vehicles at every level of the global market.

The company says it has already introduced more than fifteen electric vehicle models since entering the EV sector. In 2025, VinFast delivered 175,099 vehicles in Vietnam, a figure the company describes as a national sales record. That performance has helped cement its position as the country’s leading automotive brand while it continues expanding into regional and international markets. It is targeting to sell 300,000 cars globally for 2026.
