Didn’t I just write this story? No, that was another one, but we do already have another award announcement from Nissan about the 2026 LEAF winning a notable award. The fully electric car has been named one of Autotrader’s Best New Cars of 2026.

“Autotrader’s editorial experts evaluated hundreds of newly introduced and redesigned vehicles for 2026, narrowing the field to their Top 10 recommendations. Editors praised the models on the list for being groundbreaking, compelling and strong choices for consumers in a crowded marketplace,” Nissan writes.

“The all-new 2026 Nissan LEAF builds on its heritage of reliable, affordable and stylish electric mobility, delivering exceptional value for mainstream EV buyers. With an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 303 miles per charge1, it provides confidence for everyday driving. A built-in NACS port with Plug & Charge2 capability also gives drivers access to more than 27,500 Tesla Superchargers3 making public charging convenient and easy.”

Indeed. What more is there to say? The car has more than enough range, has super convenient charging capabilities, now comes as a nicely designed crossover (which is what everyone wants these days), surely has good enough infotainment and such for normal consumers, and all at what is now a low price for a new car. It checks all the boxes, and should really be an extremely popular mass-market model.

Here’s more from Nissan itself on what it thinks makes the model worthy of yet another award: “Now in its third generation, the reimagined Nissan LEAF features clean, dynamic body lines that blend a sleek silhouette with an SUV-like stance. Its extensive roster of advanced technologies includes an available segment-first dimming panoramic roof4, standard class-exclusive Intelligent Around View® Monitor5, 64-color ambient interior lighting, flush door handles, 3D holographic tail lamps and available dual 14.3-inch displays with Google built-in6, including Google Maps.”

I’ll just end with the question I ended with three days ago: which award is coming next? (And can we go a week before another one rolls in?)
