Rumor is out that Stellantis has been in talks with two Chinese EV producers, XPeng and Xiaomi, regarding forming significant partnerships.

Stellantis has not exactly been the shining example of good financial management or traveling with the trends, and it’s not surprising to find out that it is turning to some Chinese producers to now find its way through the transition to smart, electric vehicles.

“Stellantis is in active discussions with several Chinese automakers to explore technology sharing, platform integration, and even potential investments in its European operations and stakes in brands such as Maserati,” TipRanks writes.

“The talks include using Chinese-developed EV platforms, batteries, and powertrains for Stellantis brands such as Fiat, Opel, and Peugeot, and potential investments from Chinese automakers into STLA’s struggling European business units.”
