Zoox has hit a milestone moment, by far our largest to date. Today, we are announcing our plans for service expansions across multiple markets, as well as introducing new product and service features. We are gearing up to expand our service in San Francisco and Las Vegas, and to begin testing our robotaxi in Austin and Miami. Together, these developments represent our most important service expansion yet, and another step toward bringing Zoox to more riders across the country.
“This expansion marks a significant step forward for Zoox and is driven by the insights from our early deployments,” said Aicha Evans, CEO. “This is our year of growth. We are actively implementing learnings to confidently and safely scale our robotaxi service across the country and bring our differentiated experience to even more riders.”
After more than a decade of working toward a bold vision of evolving urban mobility and how people move, connect, and reclaim their time, we remain the only company with a fully autonomous ride-hailing service in a purpose-built robotaxi.
Building momentum and refining the service
In less than a year since our first launch in Las Vegas, we’ve driven nearly two million autonomous miles in our robotaxi and carried over 350,000 riders. Rider feedback remains central to the evolution of our initial service. With each and every ride, we learn more about how people engage with autonomous mobility in everyday life. These learnings have been crucial to scaling our robotaxi service and operations in our current markets and in new cities this year.
Based on rider feedback, we’re introducing an updated ETA engine to improve precision, along with pre-booking estimates that give riders a clearer picture of their journey before they commit. We’re also adding new service and technical capabilities to support reduced wait times, more accurate ETAs, and smoother driving. These insights are shaping how Zoox evolves and reinforcing a belief that has guided us from the beginning: the best way to deliver autonomous mobility is with a vehicle designed specifically for it.
“Since our inception in 2014, we’ve strongly believed that a purpose-built approach is the best way to solve the challenge of autonomy and offer a wonderful experience,” said Jesse Levinson, Co-Founder and CTO. “As Zoox becomes a part of our riders’ daily lives, it is clearer than ever that purpose-built is the future. We are excited to build on this momentum and expand what’s possible with the unique product our customers are beginning to know and love.”
New pickup and drop-off options in Las Vegas
Members of the public will soon have access to even more of the city’s most iconic destinations and venues along the Strip. We’ve more than doubled the number of locations for Zoox service, adding the Las Vegas Convention Center and a majority of the major hotels along the Strip. We recommend checking the Zoox app for the latest list of locations.
Through our partnerships with Sphere and T-Mobile Arena, we are also beginning initial limited service to high-traffic events at these venues. These destinations will soon be available to Zoox employees and will open to the public later this spring.

Since last spring, we’ve been testing at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) with our retrofitted testing fleet, and we will soon begin driving our robotaxi in preparation for future service. In 2025, LAS served nearly 55 million passengers. There is a significant opportunity for Zoox to become an integral part of the travel experience from the moment of arrival in Las Vegas.
Service expansion in San Francisco will quadruple from its current size
While many of our competitors began initial offerings in more residential areas, we’re focused on expanding the Zoox service to where the majority of ride-hailing happens in San Francisco.
Beginning this spring, our service will be available to Zoox Explorers across a large portion of the eastern half of the city, including the Marina, North Beach, and Chinatown, as well as Pacific Heights, and along the Embarcadero. With this quadrupling of our SF geofence, we are excited to continue to welcome more riders from our waitlist to experience Zoox in San Francisco as we prepare for launch.
The robotaxi is coming to Austin and Miami
The Zoox robotaxi will soon operate coast to coast, with the introduction of our purpose-built vehicle on roads in Austin and Miami. We have been testing our technology in these markets with the Zoox retrofitted testing fleet since mid-2024 and are excited to reach the next stage of our deployment.

The initial rollout will be within a small area of both cities, and rides will first be available to Zoox employees, their families, and friends. We will expand the operating areas as our testing progresses. We look forward to opening our waitlist in Austin soon and to welcoming Zoox Explorers to our early rider program in both markets later this year.
Introducing new product features
Behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard to enhance the rider experience with key product updates that support a more seamless journey. We’re introducing “Find My Zoox,” a feature where the robotaxi uses distinct lighting and sound cues to help riders identify their specific robotaxi in crowded pickup zones.
We’re also giving riders more ways to listen to their favorite music. With “ZooxCast,” riders can seamlessly connect their devices via Bluetooth and stream audio alongside the existing curated Stingray Music playlists.
Riders are embracing the Zoox experience
The excitement for Zoox is palpable. To date, over 500,000 people have signed up to our waitlist. It’s clear there’s real demand for what Zoox is bringing to the robotaxi market.
That enthusiasm is being validated by those who have experienced a ride. We consistently receive an average rating of 4.7 stars from riders in Las Vegas and San Francisco and hear reviews that people are delighted with their Zoox experience, praising the unique in-cabin experience and futuristic vibe. Riders have commented that they are connecting in ways that no traditional car or rideshare service offers.

We launched with a focus on experience-driven rides with riders across Las Vegas and San Francisco. And we are beginning to see a transition to people using Zoox as a form of functional, point-to-point transportation. The design of the robotaxi is creating the type of social experiences that were the onset foundation for our approach to autonomy.
We will share more information as additional locations open. To ride with Zoox, download our app from the App Store or Google Play and be the first to know when service in your area is available.
