Orica Digital Solutions brings Axis Mining support to North Bay, Ontario

Orica Digital Solutions has expanded its Canadian footprint with a new Axis Mining Technology Technical Support & Service Centre in North Bay, Ontario.

The new facility reinforces Digital Solutions’ commitment to supporting mining customers closer to their operations while expanding the reach of its industry-leading orebody intelligence portfolio across North America, it says.

The centre strengthens Axis Mining Technology’s national service and support network and provides our customers with improved access to technical expertise, equipment servicing, product support and training, the company added.

The facility was formally opened during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local government representatives, industry stakeholders, customers and community members. Remarks were delivered by several regional dignitaries, highlighting the importance of continued investment in Northern Ontario’s mining and technology sectors.

The North Bay Technical Centre represents the latest investment in Orica Digital Solutions’ expanding global presence and reflects the growing demand for digital technologies that help mining operations improve productivity, safety and decision making.

Ben St-Onge, P.Geo – Regional Manager Canada – Axis, Orica Digital Solutions, said: “The new centre further strengthens Axis’ ability to deliver responsive, customer-focused support across the country.

“Canada remains one of the world’s most important mining markets, and our customers rely on timely support and trusted technical expertise. The North Bay Technical Centre brings us even closer to the mining communities we serve and further strengthens our ability to support customers throughout the region.”

Axis Mining Technology has built one of the most extensive service and support networks for integrated surveying solutions for drillers and geologist in the Canadian mining industry, enabling rapid response and local expertise across key mining regions, the company says. The North Bay facility further enhances that capability while supporting future growth initiatives across the country.

The opening also reflects the continued integration and expansion of the company’s orebody intelligence portfolio, creating new opportunities to deliver connected mining workflows and data-driven technologies that improve operational outcomes.

Gordon Wallace – Vice President – Orebody Intelligence, said: “The investment demonstrates Orica’s commitment to helping customers unlock greater value from digital transformation. As mining operations continue to adopt digital technologies, proximity to our customers becomes increasingly important. This new technical centre strengthens our ability to provide local expertise backed by the global capabilities of Orica Digital Solutions. It is an important step in our ongoing growth and commitment to supporting customers wherever they operate.”

The North Bay Technical Centre joins a growing network of Orica Digital Solutions locations around the world, supporting customers with technology, expertise and services designed to enable safer, smarter and more connected mining operations, the company says.

The opening follows continued growth across Canada and supports future expansion initiatives, including the company’s increasing presence in western Canada.
