In the third and final* article in this miniseries on BYD’s monthly sales, we’re looking beyond passenger vehicles and jumping into large commercial electric vehicles. If you missed our previous two articles, see this one on BYD’s overall plugin vehicle sales and this one on BYD’s vehicle sales beyond California.
BYD’s bus sales (all electric of course) totaled 620 units in July, up 90.8% compared to June 2026. That said, they saw only a very minor increase compared to July 2025 — 1.6% growth.
Excluding buses, BYD’s commercial vehicle sales reached 7,519 units in July 2026, up 28.4% month over month (from 5,855 in June 2026), and up 183.1% year over year (from 2,656 in July 2025).
Combining buses and non-bus commercial electric vehicle sales, BYD sold 8,139 units in July 2026, 31.7% more than in June 2026 (6,180 units) and 149.2% more than in July 2025 (3,266 units).
