Porsche is in the doghouse with EV fans now that it is planning to eliminate the Taycan from its lineup. However, there is some good-ish news. The company is trying to boost consumer demand for its Macan EV.
The Macan EV has had an interesting year or two. In 2025, the model had more sales than its gas-powered twin — 45,367 versus 38,961. Great! Amazing! … But that didn’t last. In the first quarter of this year, Macan EV sales dropped 43% compared to Q4 2026. (Also note that Macan sales overall were down 23% year over year.) To try to counter these negative trends, Porsche is giving the Macan a boost.
“So, what’s new for 2027? Porsche is bundling its more commonly picked packages, for a start. Dubbed the Advanced Package, it’s available for the Macan (base), Macan 4 and Macan 4S models. It includes a panoramic roof, Matrix LED headlights, and auto-dimming side and rear-view mirrors, and lets the buyer choose from an expanded color palette selection,” Autoblog writes.
“This package also adds more features inside. Ticking the box for it means it gets 14-way adjustable Comfort seats, black leather, and an upgraded audio setup care of a Bose Surround Sound System. There are also neat additions under the chassis, namely Power Steering Plus, adaptive air suspension with self-leveling and height adjustment, plus Porsche Active Suspension Management.”
Additionally, the Macan GTS and Macan Turbo will go from 11 kW AC charging capability to 22 kW. The Macan, Macan 4, and Macan 4S still have 11 kW by default, but they have the option of being upgraded to 22 kW.
There’s also an automated parking upgrade, but, honestly, I don’t really see people jumping for joy and using automated parking in general, so it’s hard to get excited about that one.
Oh, by the way, note that these updates are only coming to Europe at the moment. Presumably, they will be rolled out in North America later in the year or next year.
