Vivek Bhatia, the Managing Director and CEO of TKIL Industries Pvt. Ltd. (formerly thyssenkrupp Industries India), has been instrumental in transforming the company into a leader in sustainable industrial solutions. Since assuming leadership on January 1, 2019, Bhatia has guided TKIL through a significant evolution, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and strategic growth.
Professional Journey
Before joining TKIL, Bhatia served as CEO for the Asia Pacific region at thyssenkrupp AG, overseeing operations across multiple countries. His career also includes a tenure at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in India, where he specialized in the capital goods sector. His exceptional work earned him the BCG Olympics Gold Medal in 2013 for impactful client engagements. Earlier, he worked as a design engineer at Engineers India Limited, focusing on refineries and pipeline projects.
Bhatia’s academic credentials are equally impressive. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering with honors from the University of Delhi, a Master of Technology (Gold Medalist) from IIT Delhi, and an MBA from IIM Calcutta.

The company has diversified its portfolio to include cutting-edge technologies in green hydrogen production, biomass boilers, and biofuels such as compressed biogas (CBG), ethanol, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
A notable achievement is TKIL’s strategic partnership with SoHHytec SA, aimed at bringing advanced green hydrogen technology to India. This collaboration supports the ‘Make in India’ initiative by developing a local supply chain for green hydrogen equipment, contributing to cost-effective and scalable clean energy solutions.
Additionally, TKIL offers Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) boilers with multifuel capabilities, oil and gas boilers, and waste heat recovery systems for the cement and steel industries, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon footprints.

Bhatia’s visionary leadership has garnered significant recognition. In April 2025, he was honored with the “India’s Greatest CEO 2024–25” award at the 25th Edition of the Asian Business & Social Forum, acknowledging his role in redefining TKIL’s trajectory and commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Beyond corporate achievements, Bhatia actively contributes to industry dialogues. As the National Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s Mining & Construction Equipment Division (CII MCED), he advocates for the sector’s growth and its role in India’s infrastructure development. His insights emphasize the importance of embracing cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices to drive efficiency and resilience in the industry.
