ClimeFi Unlocks Access To XPRIZE Winners With New Carbon Removal Portfolio Offering

In a positive move for carbon removal, ClimeFi has partnered with XPRIZE to offer CDR buyers streamlined access to some of those recognized as Winners and Finalists in the $100M XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition.

The new ClimeFi XPRIZE Portfolio provides corporate buyers, climate investors, and procurement managers with a very interesting opportunity: access to a diversified slate of CDR technologies that have already passed rigorous technical, environmental, and scalability benchmarks.

Announced in April, the XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition recognized breakthrough approaches across the CDR spectrum, selected from a field of more than 1,300 global teams. Top awards included:

  • πŸ₯‡ Mati Carbon – Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) – $50M
  • πŸ₯ˆ NetZero – Biomass CDR and Storage (BiCRS) – $15M
  • πŸ₯‰ Vaulted Deep – Underground storage for unusable waste – $8M
  • πŸŽ–οΈ UNDO Carbon – Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) – $5M

Together, these projects represent some of the most promising pathways toward permanent atmospheric COβ‚‚ removal.

A Simplified Route To High-Integrity CDR

ClimeFi’s portfolio structure gives buyers the benefits of both exposure and efficiency:

  • Single point of access to multiple vetted technologies
  • Pre-negotiated contracts for frictionless onboarding
  • Lower minimum purchase thresholds, making procurement more accessible
  • Delivery pipeline of over 50,000 tonnes by 2030

For corporate sustainability teams and climate-conscious buyers, this model significantly reduces the transactional complexity associated with sourcing diverse, high-quality CDR credits at scale.

Why This Matters

The global voluntary carbon market is maturing, and increasingly scrutinized. Buyers are under pressure to secure not just credits, but credible, durable, and auditable removals. The ClimeFi XPRIZE Portfolio offers a direct channel into technologies that have been validated not only by rigorous scientific and MRV criteria, but also by a public competition. It’s a good combination of technical validation, public visibility, and commercial readiness, packaged into a B2B product.

Looking Ahead

As demand for permanent CDR accelerates, initiatives like this help connect capital and climate ambition with vetted, investable solutions. The ClimeFi-XPRIZE collaboration thus serves as a blueprint for how competitions, asset management platforms and project developers jointly build the infrastructure needed to scale global removals.
