Agudio and Leitner owner HTI acquires Seik, strengthening materials handling position

The HTI Group – High Technology Industries SpA – is becoming the majority shareholder of the South Tyrolean company Seik, further strengthening its position in the field of material handling. HTI is the owner of Leitner, which in turn includes Agudio, the supplier of Flyingbelts, cableways, and ropeways for moving bulk materials or single loads over difficult terrain.

HTI said the basis for this move is a clear strategic objective: the development of significant industrial and technological synergies, the pooling of expertise, and the further expansion of the group’s portfolio. HTI is already a leader in material transport over challenging terrain, thanks to solutions such as the Flyingbelt – a patented system that combines the advantages of conveyor belts and cable car installations – or products like the so-called Blondin (cable cranes for major infrastructure projects) as well as cable car systems for special applications.

Among the most important references are Flyingbelt installations in Barroso (Brazil), on the River Lippe in Germany, in Rogun (Tajikistan), or on the construction site of the Terzo Valico dei Giovi in Genoa. Other important projects in the field of material transport include cable crane systems for the construction of dams in Portugal, Peru, and Turkey, or the recently built apple cableway in Trentino. The Barroso example is the longest Flyingbelt in the world, with a length of approximately 14.4 km, transporting 1,500 t of limestone per hour at heights up to 36 metres.

Seik’s products ideally complement the portfolio of the HTI Group, enabling the provision of the most comprehensive and complete solution offering worldwide for cable-based material transport: from stationary systems for large payloads to flexible and specific solutions for complex construction sites and extreme environments. “A solid entrepreneurial tradition of the region is also to be maintained, characterised by strong technological innovation and high regard for environmental compatibility. This approach has made Seik one of the world’s leading players in the sector within just a few decades, with major international projects such as the Trojena dam in Saudi Arabia.”

“Our goal is to ensure the continuity of the company and to continue being a reliable partner for our customers. We want to offer our employees a long-term perspective and are now creating the conditions for further growth of the company,” says Michael Lantschner, Founder and Managing Director of Seik.

Seik was founded in 1991 and has redefined material transport with modern cable car installations. From the first patented motorised trolley to installations designed for operation under extreme conditions, the company from Truden has built a reputation for technical expertise, reliability, and continuous innovation.

Following its first major project in India in 2004, Seik pursued a consistent international growth strategy and is now present in 16 countries. Among the most representative developments are the Skydumper with a payload of 40 t and energy recovery, as well as the Skytruck, a traverse crane on cables with a payload of 30 t, used in the construction of dams and bridges. The range also includes cableways with motorized trolleys, cable car systems for mountain huts (Skycargo), winches, air pipelines, and bespoke systems such as SkyX, or the latest portal crane with a payload of 25 tonnes, realized for Honduras, which achieves a working depth of 600 m. The company is also active in the forestry sector, offering equipment and motorized trolleys with advanced technology (Skytiger).

The High Technology Industries (HTI) group operates worldwide in the fields of ropeways (Leitner, Poma, Bartholet), snowmaking, crawler carriers and vegetation management (Prinoth and Jarraff), snowmaking and dust binding systems (Demaclenko, Hkd and Wlp), wind energy (Leitwind), hydropower (Troyer) and digital ski resort management (Skadii). With products in 88 countries worldwide, the HTI Group has 22 production sites, 110 branches and 183 sales and service centres. The 2025 financial year concluded with a turnover of €1.622 billion, with €42.5 million invested in research and development, and the group employs 4,955 staff.
