ARR Updates Mineral Resource Estimate for Cowboy State Mine at Halleck Creek, Reports Significant Resource Growth
American Rare Earths (ARR) has announced an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its Cowboy State Mine project at Halleck Creek, marking a major step forward in the company’s plans to develop one of the United States’ most promising rare earth deposits.
According to ARR, the updated MRE reflects a substantial increase in both tonnage and grade, supported by extensive drilling and geological modelling completed over the past year. The new estimate reinforces Halleck Creek’s status as a large-scale, long-life rare earths project with the potential to support domestic supply chains crucial for renewable energy, defence, and high-tech manufacturing.
Company executives noted that the resource expansion strengthens ARR’s strategy to fast-track development, stating that the improved metrics significantly enhance the project’s economic outlook. The updated MRE includes higher-confidence measured and indicated resources, giving the company greater flexibility in future mine planning and feasibility studies.
Industry analysts say the upgraded resource places ARR in a strong position at a time when the U.S. is prioritizing critical mineral security and reducing reliance on foreign suppliers, particularly China.
ARR is expected to release further technical details and development timelines as work progresses, with environmental assessments and permitting processes set to continue in parallel.
