Dyno Nobel, TesMan to combine explosives and robotics expertise as part of new partnership

Commercial explosives leader Dyno Nobel and mining and product development company TesMan, Inc. have announced a strategic partnership focused on accelerating innovation in underground mining.

As mining operations face increasing pressure to improve safety while maintaining productivity, Dyno Nobel and TesMan are driven by a shared dedication to enabling safer, more efficient mining, they say. By combining Dyno Nobel’s on-the-ground services and explosives products with TesMan’s robotic technologies and equipment, the companies will unlock expanded capabilities to enhance remote loading operations and reduce exposure at the face.

For Dyno Nobel, partnering with TesMan directly aligns with the company’s core value of Zero Harm for Everyone, Everywhere, it says.

TesMan has developed solutions such as Right Round, a quick-connect unit for many types of mobile equipment that delivers a cleaning, inspection and loading process consistently better than hand loading, all while keeping operators well away from the dangers of working directly at the face. It also has a Remote Loader product described as an optically-based drill alignment technology package that can be mounted on any make or model of jumbo drill to deliver consistently better and more accurate drilling results round after round.

Pierre Labelle, Dyno Nobel’s General Manager Sales and Commercial, Canada East & Great Lakes, said: “Our partnership with TesMan is a testament to our commitment to continually push the boundaries of safety and productivity in the underground space. TesMan has been at the leading edge of developing functional solutions for ‘loading away from the face’. We are proud to work with the entire team at TesMan and look forward to implementing this technology in key markets.”

Clara Steele, Co-Owner of TesMan, adds: “Underground mining companies across the globe continually strive to reduce risk in the workplace and to increase mine longevity through productivity and efficiency gains. TesMan hard and soft technologies are a catalyst to achieve those goals. The global presence and reputation of Dyno Nobel are respected as supporters of these same goals with the depth required to achieve them.”
