Epiroc trucks, loaders and drilling equipment heading to Avesoro’s Bea Mountain mine in Liberia
Avesoro and Epiroc have signed a strategic memorandum that will see the company add more of the OEM’s equipment to its fleet at the Bea Mountain Mining Corporation (BMMC) operation in Liberia.
The company announced on LinkedIn that its CEO, Özgür Gümüş (pictured on the left), and Epiroc President and CEO, Helena Hedblom (pictured on the right), had signed a pact focused on a “shared vision for the future”. It said it marked an important milestone in strengthening BMMC’s haulage and drilling capabilities as key enablers of future production.
The first Epiroc Minetruck MT65s and Scooptram ST18 loaders have already been delivered to BMMC, according to Avesoro, enhancing its underground haulage capacity and operational flexibility. New drilling equipment will further improve efficiency, precision and production performance in longhole drilling and lateral development, it added.
“These investments support our strategy to enable safer and more efficient mining, including the implementation of a new longhole drilling method and our 1,000-m, two-shaft development plan,” Avesoro said. “The future commissioning of the hoist shaft, together with ongoing automation infrastructure studies, will further enhance safety, capacity and overall operational performance.”
Avesoro said Epiroc’s technology and strong technical support will continue to play an important role in supporting its long-term operational success.
