Ferreyros, a major Caterpillar dealer and leader in heavy machinery, is driving the adoption of Cat AI Assistant in Peru. This Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solution from Caterpillar enhances operations involving the brand’s digital application ecosystem and equipment, impacting key areas such as machinery management, maintenance, procurement, and operation.
Recently launched globally, Cat AI Assistant is a conversational agent that provides personalised, real-time responses by integrating knowledge from Caterpillar’s digital applications and machinery. Users can access the solution via mobile phones or other electronic devices.
“Cat AI Assistant sets a new standard, strengthening the Caterpillar ecosystem with artificial intelligence to enable faster, smarter decision-making. We are very optimistic about promoting this technology and helping our customers leverage its capabilities to boost productivity, efficiency, and safety in their operations,” said Alan Sablich, Marketing and Digital Business Division Manager at Ferreyros.
Cat AI Assistant is integrated into Caterpillar’s portfolio of digital applications – such as VisionLink (for fleet management), Parts.Cat.Com (supporting parts planning and purchasing), SIS 2.0 (facilitating access to technical information and manuals for Cat equipment and components for maintenance and repair), and Cat Central (for comprehensive management of the entire Cat ecosystem).
In the next phase, the solution will be implemented directly within the cabs of Cat machines, expanding its operational potential. “It will allow operators to make inquiries and seek advice via voice notes while maneuvering, obtaining key information on equipment performance and health for safer, more efficient work. It will serve as an in-cab advisor, taking operator training to the next level – a unique offering in the sector,” added Sablich.
Each customer has their own username and password to personalize their interaction with the agent and maintain data privacy, although the tool can also be used without an account. In addition to organising and analysing information for the user, Cat AI Assistant enables comparisons against general industry standards.
