Flexco says its recently added Polyurethane Canoe Liner can, upon installation inside a facility’s conveyor skirtboard system, immediately provide superior impact protection, absorbing material loads and preventing structural damage while creating a more efficient and cost-effective conveyor operation.
Kevin Fales, Flexco HD BCP Product Manager, said: “The Polyurethane Canoe Liner is a much-needed addition to our collection of conveyor protection systems. During site visits, our territory managers often notice conveyor systems that are being overloaded or experiencing off-centre material placement that damages skirtboard walls. Unfortunately, this can create significant issues for plant managers, as when their skirtboards are damaged, they face costly repairs, extended downtime and decreased operational efficiency. The structural damage that is created is expensive to repair, often requiring complete skirtboard replacement, and causes other components to become susceptible to excess wear. Worse, the material spillage subjects their onsite workforce to hazardous working conditions and cleanup requirements.
“By utilising our new Canoe Liner, operators can effectively protect their skirtboard infrastructure, mitigating these negative effects and helping to reduce potential downtime incidents.”
With its fast-fit and field ready installation process, the Polyurethane Canoe Liner allows installation crews to quickly mount Flexco’s solution inside existing skirtboard systems without major modifications, altogether avoiding the complications that arise when using traditional rubber tiles or basic urethane solutions that may require extensive system alterations during installation, Flexco claims. Instead, it easily mounts inside the skirt box where material impact occurs, is positioned to absorb heavy loads and creates an effective high-wear barrier to protect the conveyor’s infrastructure. The Canoe Liner’s product design features a steel-reinforced construction, giving Flexco’s partner network a superior solution that can withstand the punishment of overloaded conveyor conditions while enabling quick replacement when worn.
The Polyurethane Canoe Liner is available in segments up to 48 inches (1,219 mm) and can be sized to match specific skirtboard dimensions. Additionally, it features a steel-reinforced urethane construction for maximum durability, operates effectively under heavy material loads and includes complete mounting hardware for immediate installation.
Flexco’s Canoe Liner can be used in heavy-duty applications within industries like aggregate, cement, coal, open-pit/hard-rock mining, underground mining and bulk material handling operations, Flexco says.
