GR Engineering Services Limited has been appointed preferred contractor by Brightstar Resources Limited in relation to the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Laverton Processing Plant, part of the Goldfields gold project in Western Australia.
The project is in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia, approximately 35km southeast of the town of Laverton. The scope of work comprises the design, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of a 1.5 Mt/y gold processing facility, with the award allowing for the placement of SAG mill and variable speed drives.
The EPC contract is subject to the achievement of final investment decision and finalisation of project funding, both of which are anticipated to be completed by late March 2026. The estimated contract value is A$115 million ($81 million). An early works agreement has been executed and ordering of long lead items and engineering works have commenced.
Tony Patrizi, Managing Director, said: “Our clients are increasingly seeking certainty and a track record of performance. GR Engineering has been able to demonstrate this to Brightstar, including by reference to its proven track record of successfully delivering project outcomes in the Western Australian gold sector.
“We look forward to working with the Brightstar team on their pathway to become a stand-alone Western Australian gold producer.”
