M/s Greta Energy and Metal Private Limited is proud to announce the signing of a Coal Gasification Project Development and Production Agreement with the Ministry of Coal, Government of India. This landmark agreement represents a pivotal step in Greta Energy’s mission to support the Government’s ambitious National Coal Gasification Mission, which targets 100 million tonnes of coal gasification by 2030.

The signing ceremony was attended by distinguished officials from the Ministry of Coal, including the Additional Secretary, Technical Director, and Technical Advisor, reflecting the high-level commitment to the initiative. Greta Energy was represented by Mr. Ashis Kumar Mahapatro, CEO – Steel, and Mr. Vaibhav Kakulte, Vice President.
This agreement underscores Greta Energy’s strategic direction and deep commitment to deploying advanced coal gasification technologies. The company is currently finalising a suitable technology and engaging with prospective global partners to establish a world-class syngas production facility. In its Phase-II, the facility will integrate Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) technologies—demonstrating a strong focus on environmental sustainability and responsible industrial practices.
