Union Minister Piyush Goyal has announced that India has become one of the first countries to offer round-the-clock renewable energy at rates unmatched anywhere in the world. Speaking at an energy conference, Goyal highlighted how India’s aggressive push in solar, wind, hydro, and hybrid power projects has not only strengthened the nation’s energy security but also placed it at the forefront of the global clean energy transition.
According to Goyal, the country’s renewable energy tariffs are among the lowest worldwide, making green power both affordable and accessible. With India’s strong pipeline of renewable projects, round-the-clock clean energy supply is no longer a future ambition but a present-day reality.
This, he said, demonstrates India’s capability to provide uninterrupted green power to industries, households, and businesses at globally unmatched prices.
India has already crossed 180 GW of renewable capacity installation, with ambitious plans to reach 500 GW by 2030. The government’s policy framework has encouraged private investments, long-term power purchase agreements, and hybrid systems combining solar, wind, and storage solutions. These innovations enable power producers to deliver 24×7 clean energy, addressing concerns of intermittency and ensuring stable supply for the grid.
Goyal underlined that this achievement also enhances India’s competitiveness in global manufacturing, as industries can now tap into affordable renewable power round-the-clock, lowering production costs and supporting sustainable growth. He further emphasized that India is becoming a preferred destination for green investments, with its renewable energy market attracting global attention.
The minister concluded by stating that India’s energy transition is not just about meeting domestic needs but also about setting global benchmarks.
By offering round-the-clock renewable energy at unmatched rates, India is proving that clean energy can be both sustainable and economically viable, paving the way for a greener future.
