Metso has celebrated the groundbreaking of its new service centre in Prince George, British Columbia, a facility that, it says, will support growing customer demand in the region – particularly in the copper and gold sectors.
Metso will offer OEM-certified on-site inspections, turnkey service solutions and off-site repairs. The centre is expected to be fully operational by early 2026.
Justin Ayotte, Vice President, Canada Sales and Service at Metso, said: “The investment decision, announced in September 2024, was very well received by our customers. Metso’s strengthened local presence will enable faster repairs, shorter turnaround times and increased sustainability by reducing transportation distances. We’re grateful for our customers’ trust and we remain committed to becoming the preferred service provider in the industry.”
The centre will service a wide range of mining equipment from pit to port, including crushing, grinding, screening, filtration, flotation, slurry handling, thickening, clarifying, loading and hauling solutions, chute lining and more. It will also offer warehousing capabilities for spare and wear parts.
Metso says it is committed to the continuous development of its service and repair capabilities to ensure close support for customers worldwide. As part of this commitment, the expansion of the service centre and the opening of a new training centre in Mesa, Arizona, USA, are scheduled for completion in 2026.
Alongside the new facility in Prince George, these investments will further strengthen Metso’s service footprint and enhance customer support across North America, it added.
