Mineral Mining Services (MMS) has announced a contract expansion with Tennant Mines for the Nobles project in Tennant Creek, in the Northern Territory of Australia.
This growth significantly expands MMS’s operational footprint at the historic goldfield, seeing the company move into the Juno and Golden Forty box cuts, as well as the Golden Kangaroo and Kimberley Kid pits, it says.
In line with the contract expansion, additional heavy fleet has been fast-tracked to the Tennant Creek site immediately to support the increased workload and begin work across the new pits.
The expansion follows a period of high performance and is a direct result of the strong working relationship and “non-contractual”, commercial-first approach shared between both companies, MMS claims.
MMS Regional Mine Manager, Chris Kerr, said: “We love being in the Northern Territory and have truly enjoyed becoming a part of the Tennant Creek community. For MMS, this expansion is a significant milestone; it reflects the deep relationship we’ve built with Tennant Mines and our long-term commitment to the region. It’s an exciting time for our team to be increasing our presence and continuing to deliver on such a historic project.”
Tennant Mines General Manager of Tennant Creek Operations, David White, added: “The working relationship between Tennant Mines and MMS has been highly effective. MMS has demonstrated the ability to scale their operations efficiently while maintaining a focus on safety and production targets. We are pleased to continue this partnership as we develop these additional deposits.”
