Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), popularly known as Vizag Steel, is one of India’s premier public sector enterprises engaged in the production of steel. Operating under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, RINL owns and operates the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), one of the most modern and efficient steel production facilities in the country. Established in 1982, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited was incorporated as a corporate entity to manage the operations of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. As of recent figures, RINL’s Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has a liquid steel production capacity of around 7.3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), with plans and infrastructure in place for future expansions.
