After successfully completing factory acceptance testing (FAT) at its Zeltweg facility in Austria, Sandvik Mining’s mechanical cutting division has dispatched the very first Sandvik MC431 continuous miner for the Australian market.
Building on the legacy of the MC430 continuous miner and its 13 years of operational performance in South Africa, the MC431 delivers the same high-level of reliability, performance, and lowest total cost of ownership that customers trust, Sandvik says, adding that this is backed by Sandvik’s expertise and commitment to quality products.
The Sandvik MC431 double-pass miner, for place change mining operations, offers hydraulic traction and 400 kW cutting power with shear up capability achieving exceptional advance rates, the company claims. It has a maximum cutting height of 4,000 mm and a cutting width of 3,800 mm.
Sandvik says: “[The] Sandvik MC430 double pass miner is the ideal choice for operations that demand high cutting force, such as room and pillar coal operations or salt and potash mines. It offers exceptional advance rates under the harshest mining conditions and most restricted spaces.”
