SIEMAG TECBERG’s first hoisting project in Indonesia successfully accepted

Two sets of hoisting equipment supplied by Tianjin SIEMAG TECBERG Machinery Co Ltd have successfully passed acceptance for the SDE 2# Mine in Indonesia. This milestone marks SIEMAG TECBERG’s entry into the Indonesian market, representing a significant step in the company’s expansion across Southeast Asia.

The SDE 2# coal mine, which is being developed by the Qinfa Group in South Kalimantan, is the second mining project to be planned within the SDE mining area. With an estimated total investment of around US$300 million, SIEMAG TECBERG says the mine is believed to hold approximately 293 Mt of proven coal reserves and 589 Mt of coal resources. Once production is fully stabilised, the project is expected to reach an annual output of up to 10 Mt of coal. The business permit (IUP) for the project is valid until May 2034, providing a solid long-term operational framework.

The supplied service shaft hoisting system is designed for both personnel transport and material handling. Consisting of two vertical shaft hoisting systems with Koepe winders, one directly driven by a low-speed AC motor with forced air cooling, and the other driven by a motor via a gearbox. The total hoisting depth reaches 386 m. Production is planned through inclined shafts with conveyor belts.

This is SIEMAG TECBERG’s first project in Indonesia. The company states: “The successful acceptance demonstrates the reliability and adaptability of our technology in hot and humid tropical environments, as well as our strong engineering and execution capabilities in the international mining equipment market under challenging circumstances. We sincerely thank Qinfa Group for their trust and cooperation and look forward to further collaborations in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia.”
