Charging from empty to full with a 40A charger takes just 1.5 hours, which is quicker than most EVs and motorcycles in its class.
The drivetrain uses an automatic CVT transmission with reverse. That’s right, a reverse gear on a dirt bike, and it’s not a gimmick either. If you’ve ever had to back a 300-lb machine out of a tight spot on a slope, you know why this matters.
Suspension is no afterthought. The X22 SD comes with MNT Single Cavity Double Adjustable shocks, offering 84mm–250mm of travel. Combine that with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, an LCD screen, LED lights, and a modular rack system, and you’ve got a seriously versatile e-moto.
At around 295 lb, it’s not ultralight, but it’s well-balanced. With 12.6 inches of ground clearance, a 58-inch wheelbase, and a seat height of 34.5 inches, the X22 SD hits that sweet spot between nimble and stable.
Puma X24: Pure Electric Muscle

If the X22 SD is your agile trail companion, the Puma X24 is its older, more powerful sibling that eats elevation gain for breakfast. Everything about it is cranked up a notch.
The X24 runs on an 80V DC permanent magnet motor delivering 25,000 watts of peak power and a tire-twisting 1050Nm of torque. It hits 100 mph, and goes 0–62 in just four seconds. This isn’t just fast for an e-moto, it’s fast, period.
The battery is also bigger: an 80V 75Ah lithium-ion pack using the same CATL cells. You still get the quick-release feature, and charging with a 40A charger takes about 2 hours from empty.
Unlike the automatic X22 SD, the Puma X24 gives you a 5-speed manual transmission (one down, four up) plus reverse — a nod to riders who want more control and engagement on the trail.
The rest of the specs are equally impressive: 315 lb, 58-inch wheelbase, 12.6 inches of ground clearance, and the same fully adjustable MNT shocks with a wide range of travel. It’s built like a tank but rides like a tuned machine. The brakes, lighting, and LCD display are all carried over from the X22 SD, because if it works, why change it?
Built For Real Riders
Both Pumas are more than spec sheets. They’re clearly designed with serious riders in mind. Features like reverse gear, quick-swap batteries, and modular racks aren’t just conveniences, they’re thoughtful touches that make a real difference when you’re 20 miles deep on a ridgeline or navigating tight singletrack.
The build quality is solid throughout. The frames use a mix of Q345B steel and 6061 forged aluminum, offering strength without turning the bikes into lead weights. CATL battery cells ensure not just performance but long-term reliability, which is a must for serious trail use.
And let’s not forget suspension: with up to 250mm of travel, both bikes are ready to absorb whatever you throw at them, from rocky descents to washed-out climbs.

The Puma X22 SD is priced at $8,999, a very competitive number for its power, battery size, and feature set. Estimated shipping begins July 15.
The Puma X24 comes in at $10,999. It’s currently sold out, which isn’t surprising given the performance it offers for the price. Bakcou is encouraging riders to sign up for stock alerts on their website to get notified when it’s back.
Backcountry Hunting, Meet Electric Power
It’s also worth mentioning Bakcou’s growing influence in the backcountry hunting scene. In fact, they’ve been vocal about how e-motos, especially models like the Puma, are a better fit for hunters and outdoor professionals than traditional ATVs or gas-powered dirt bikes.
