Vedanta Aluminium has expanded its billet production capacity at its Jharsuguda facility in Odisha to 830 thousand tonnes per annum (KTPA), strengthening its position in the domestic and global aluminium market. The expansion is aimed at meeting rising demand from key sectors such as construction, automotive, power, and infrastructure.
Company officials said the enhanced capacity will enable greater production of value-added aluminium products, improve operational efficiency, and support downstream industries. The Jharsuguda complex is one of the company’s largest integrated aluminium manufacturing units.
The move aligns with Vedanta Aluminium’s strategy to focus on value-added products, reduce imports, and support India’s manufacturing and infrastructure growth, while also creating additional employment opportunities in the region.
