VinFast has signed agreements with two Indonesian transportation companies that could see up to 20,000 electric vehicles deployed in commercial service over the next several years, strengthening the Vietnamese automaker’s push into Southeast Asia’s largest economy.
The memoranda of understanding involve PT Satu Kosong Tujuh and PT Sembilan Benua Abadi, both transportation service providers operating in Indonesia. Under the arrangement, PT Sembilan Benua Abadi plans to procure 10,000 VinFast vehicles by the end of 2027, while PT Satu Kosong Tujuh is expected to acquire another 10,000 units by 2028.
The vehicles will be used in commercial mobility operations and will include two models developed specifically for service fleets: the Nerio Green sport-utility vehicle and the Limo Green multi-purpose vehicle. Both belong to VinFast’s “Green” lineup, a category the company created to address the operational demands of transport services such as ride-hailing, shuttle operations, and fleet mobility.
The Nerio Green traces its origins to the VF e34, VinFast’s first passenger EV introduced in Indonesia. The model has been adapted for intensive daily use while retaining the compact crossover profile and interior space that made the original vehicle suitable for urban travel.
The Limo Green, a larger three-row MPV aimed at passenger transport services, is the newest addition to VinFast’s Indonesian lineup. The vehicle measures 4,740 millimeters long, 1,872 millimeters wide, and 1,728 millimeters high, with a 2,840-millimeter wheelbase. Designed to accommodate high passenger volumes, the model is equipped with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery capable of delivering up to 450 kilometers of driving range on a full charge, allowing operators to extend service hours while reducing charging interruptions.
Both Indonesian partners expect the introduction of electric fleets to improve operational economics while reducing emissions in urban transport.
Nirzam Pahmi, president director of PT Satu Kosong Tujuh, said the agreement reflects the company’s long-term transition toward electrified mobility.
“We have strong confidence in VinFast and its potential to build a comprehensive, inclusive, and accessible electric mobility ecosystem,” he said, adding that the partnership aligns with the company’s goal of shifting its fleet to electric vehicles as part of a broader regional and global shift toward cleaner transport.
PT Sembilan Benua Abadi CEO Wempy Suciadi said the vehicles themselves played a central role in the company’s decision to partner with the Vietnamese automaker.
“We are impressed with Nerio Green and Limo Green not only for their product quality but also for the sustainable development vision they represent,” he said. “These models are highly promising solutions that align with the practical needs of consumers amid the transition toward green transportation.”
For VinFast, the fleet agreements represent an opportunity to place large numbers of vehicles into daily service, exposing more consumers to electric mobility through commercial transport platforms.
Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, chief executive officer of VinFast Indonesia, said cooperation with established local operators will help accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
“We are honored to collaborate with reputable partners in Indonesia to accelerate EV adoption and advance the green transition,” he said. “Partnering with experienced enterprises that possess deep local market understanding will enable VinFast to rapidly expand market coverage and bring modern mobility solutions closer to Indonesian consumers.”
VinFast has been building its presence in Indonesia since entering the market more than two years ago. The company now offers a range of electric vehicles spanning multiple price segments, including the VF 3, VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, VF 7, and the larger VF MPV 7, alongside fleet-focused vehicles such as the Limo Green.
Manufacturing operations have also begun at the company’s assembly plant in Subang, West Java, reinforcing VinFast’s long-term investment in the country and supporting the development of a local EV supply chain.
Beyond vehicle sales, the company has been expanding a broader ecosystem intended to support electric mobility adoption. That effort includes the rollout of dealerships and service facilities nationwide, the deployment of charging infrastructure through its partnership with V-Green, and financing programs developed with Indonesian banks and financial institutions.
Through these initiatives, VinFast aims to make electric vehicles more accessible while accelerating the transition to low-emission transportation across Indonesia’s rapidly growing mobility sector.
