Vision, commitment, sustainability, leadership — this has been the ISEA way for four decades. As part of its fundraising activities to help advance solar energy in Illinois, the Illinois Solar Education Association (ISEA) has also been raffling off electric vehicles for years. This year, it’s all about Rivian — winners can get a Rivian R1T or Rivian R1S.

Of course, who wouldn’t like to win a brand new Rivian? That is the main draw, naturally. With only 2,500 tickets available, your odds are an impressive 1 in 2,500, far better than a typical lottery. Tickets can sell out, so it’s best to enter sooner rather than later. I always like to share that a CleanTechnica reader actually won the first ISEA EV raffle!

The other big draw is the fact that you’re supporting solar power. ISEA does a great job educating the public and policymakers about solar power, and helping to stimulate strong, solar-supportive policies in the state. “From expanding access to solar and energy storage to supporting consumers, businesses, and policymakers, ISEA works every day to accelerate the transition to renewable energy across the state,” as the organization writes. Every raffle ticket you buy helps them in that work.

It’s not just lip service, either. Illinois has been scoring some of the biggest solar policy success stories around the country lately. “Thanks to supporters like you, ISEA has helped advance landmark legislation including the Future Energy Jobs Act, the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, and most recently the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act (CRGA), signed into law by Governor J.B. Pritzker this January!” Indeed. We’ve been covering those policies, and it did not slip past me at all that ISEA had a hand in them and has been a great partner of ours for years. (I don’t even know how many raffle tickets I’ve bought myself by now….) It’s great to see an organization you’ve been supporting achieving big and important things like that.
