Chinese conveying solutions and technology major Sichuan Zigong Conveying Machine Group Co Ltd, better known in the market as ZGCMC, recently signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Zhongke Huituo Technology, better known as WAYTOUS, one of China’s larger AHS tech players.
Leveraging their respective industrial and technological strengths, the two parties say they will collaborate to advance intelligent transport and green mine development, both domestically and internationally, and create integrated unmanned trucking and conveying solutions, thereby facilitating the mining industry’s transformation toward intelligence, unmanned operations and sustainability.
The idea is a core integrated system comprising autonomous mining trucks, intelligent conveyors, and smart operations, through which the two parties will establish an end-to-end service model combining short-haul transport via autonomous mining trucks and long-distance transport via belt conveyors, thereby achieving comprehensive intelligent transport coverage across the mine.
They will jointly provide one-stop services – spanning solution design, equipment supply, installation and commissioning, and intelligent operations and maintenance – to reduce mining operating costs while enhancing operational safety and efficiency.
ZCGMC says this strategic partnership marks a pivotal move for it to integrate conveyor equipment manufacturing with autonomous mining technology, establishing a comprehensive business ecosystem comprising “hardware equipment, intelligent algorithms, and long-term operations.”
Moving forward, the two parties say they will jointly develop “standardised, scalable smart mining solutions, continuously drive the global expansion of domestically produced high-end smart mining equipment and advanced technologies, and further elevate the international influence of China’s smart mining equipment industry.”
WAYTOUS is known for developing an autonomous and controllable parallel mine operating system known as YuKon (also known as YUGONG). Described as an intelligent mine operating system applicable to all types of mines and scenarios, it says YuKon plays an important role in breaking through key technological barriers. It comprises six sub-systems – the autonomous fleet management system, autonomous mining truck system, collaborative loading management system, intelligent roadside cooperative system, parallel mine simulation system, and avatar driver system.
WAYTOUS has been involved in autonomy projects with a number of top domestic energy and mining groups including CHN Energy, China Huaneng Group, SPIC, China Datang Corporation, China Baowu Group, China Coal Group, BBMG Corporation, and CR Cement, with more than 30 unmanned mine projects implemented.
