Metso has marked a major milestone for its HRC8 high pressure roll crusher, with 200 units now having been made at its Alwar, Rajasthan factory in India. Metso states: “Designed for high-quality manufactured sand and aggregates production, the HRC
technology helps customers turn challenging feed materials and waste streams into valuable end products while delivering excellent product shape and low operating costs. The solution is also optimised for energy-efficient operation and reduced wear part consumption.”
The HRC
is a type of high pressure roll crusher offering versatility in recycling; process rebalancing; and sand quality improvement. Metso stated: “This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our teams, the trust of our customers, and the continued commitment to innovation across our operations.”
The HRC
8 and 800 high pressure roll crusher can convert quarry waste into a saleable product, reducing the pollution from earth moving equipment doing the double handling of those large volumes of waste materials. “HRC roll crushers excel in challenging applications, reprocessing waste materials from crushing and screening processes. These materials, often with low mass gradings are difficult to crush using VSI or other compression crushers, can be transformed into high-quality, saleable products. Additionally, in some cases, non-saleable waste can be processed to correct the gradation curve and particle shape.”
HRC
8 and HRC
800 crushers Metso adds work in applications where other crushers cannot. “They can handle small in size and very difficult feed materials, that are difficult to process by any other technology, with high abrasiveness, low crushability, moisture, fines, even clay and turn them into a valuable product.”
These machines it says excel in manufacturing sand, meeting the growing demand for economical and efficient crushed sand production. “As natural sand deposits dwindle and environmental regulations tighten, HRC
8 and HRC
800 offer a robust design, low operational costs, and superior product shape and gradation. The application is sustainable because it replaces the use of natural sand, reducing the need for loading and hauling natural sand into cities, which helps to avoid fuel burning and pollution. Furthermore, HRC equipment produces high-quality sand that reduces the demand for water and cement in concrete mixes, as well as in asphalt.”
