On June 10, autonomous mine haulage technology major CiDi Inc officially signed agreements with E-Power and Zoomlion to “carry out deep cooperation in three main areas: joint construction of integrated smart mining solutions, joint R&D and customised adaptation of intelligent equipment, and joint implementation and operation of benchmark demonstration projects.”
The intelligent + equipment + operation industrial collaboration model CiDi says will explore upgrade paths for the unmanned, digital, and green transformation of the mining industry.
The three parties will cooperate on three major focus areas – intelligent driving, high-end equipment manufacturing, and mining engineering services, each with its own industrial advantages and technological endowments. The core of the cooperation lies in building an industrial closed loop of complementary capabilities and co-creation of value.
CiDi says it has deeply cultivated the field of intelligent driving for commercial vehicles, using physical AI technology to equip full-scenario mine operations with a “smart brain,” achieving large-scale deployment of unmanned heavy-duty operations and continuous iteration of global scheduling capabilities.
Zoomlion provides high-end intelligent equipment bases. As a global leader in high-end equipment manufacturing, Zoomlion has deep technical expertise and a rich product matrix in the mining machinery field, serving as the foundational carrier for the physical execution layer of smart mines.
E-Power provides full-chain mining engineering operation service capabilities. As a member of China Energy Engineering Group, CiDi says it possesses a complete industrial chain integrating the research and development, production, sales, and blasting of civil explosives, as well as general contracting for mining and construction and green mine construction, making it a leading force in China’s mining engineering services sector.
The three parties will promote a system-level upgrade of mining operations from single-machine automation and locally unmanned operation to full-process, full-scenario system-level upgrades.
The tripartite cooperation has a long history, with a mature collaboration mechanism established in technology adaptation and project implementation.
E-Power has previously introduced many CiDi unmanned mining trucks in batches, which are used in the mining areas of coal miner Yihua Mining in the Wucaiwan Mining Area in Xinjiang Province. The investment in the autonomous driving system has significantly reduced safety risks for frontline workers in the mining area, improving the automation level and continuity of operations in the transportation process.
Zoomlion’s world’s largest hybrid wide-body truck, the ZT160HEV, is already deeply integrated with CiDi’s autonomous driving system, which has been delivered in Xinjiang Province and put into regular operation, validating the reliability of the combined intelligent driving and high-end equipment solution under extreme conditions.
CiDi: “These proven successful cases have laid a solid technical foundation and foundation of trust for this cooperation. The three parties will adopt a model of joint R&D, joint delivery, and joint operation, replicating and promoting mature experience in broader mining scenarios, creating benchmark smart mining demonstration projects.”
The signing ceremony was held at the 2026 Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Advanced Equipment Manufacturing Industry Chain Supply and Demand Matchmaking Conference and the New Generation Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem Conference. The Xianjiang New Area is a technology and innovation hub in Changsha, Hunan. Changsha is also the location of the main HQs of both CiDi and Zoomlion.
