PYBAR brings raiseboring offering to BHP Prominent Hill mine

PYBAR’s Raise Bore Division has recently arrived on site at BHP’s Prominent Hill mine, 650 km northwest of Adelaide, preparing to deliver a series of ventilation raises and inclined ore passes to facilitate safe and efficient ore flow throughout the mine’s Malu orebody to the newly constructed Wira Shaft.

The contract comes after innovative study work and strong collaboration between PYBAR and BHP to devise the final construction methodology, PYBAR says.

PYBAR General Manager, James Glover, said: “We look forward to supporting BHP to deliver quality outcomes for this important project. We have been performing similar works at BHP’s Carrapateena mine since 2017, and this contract award builds on this strong relationship.

“This contract award for PYBAR strengthens our presence in South Australia, where Thiess has been delivering mining services at the Prominent Hill mine since 2005. We look forward to continuing our partnership with BHP and delivering this project safely, efficiently and sustainably.”
